Affiliate of the Year

The Affiliate of the Year Award is presented annually to an Affiliate Association of the Nova Scotia Salmon Association for its leadership and achievements in the promotion of Atlantic Salmon and Trout restoration, public education and conservation in the Province of Nova Scotia.

2020 Presented a lot of challenges to all of our affiliates and this year’s recipient is no different.

The MSA is run by a committed bunch of volunteers that take on a lot of responsibility for one of Nova Scotia’s important salmon rivers.

The MSA is a key partner in the NSSA’s Gulf Priority Rivers Project with a longstanding involvement in habitat restoration and with the Adopt-A-Stream program.

This past year they played a key role in the early notification, clear communication, and leadership around the impending SARA listing decision in Eastern Cape Breton and beyond.
